ROCK HILL, SC—Chas Crane, who will be a junior next season for the Winthrop baseball team, has been selected to play in the 2010 Coastal Plain League's All-Star game which will be held on Tuesday, July 20, at McNair Field in Forest City, NC, beginning at 7:05 p.m.
Crane, who is tearing up the Coastal Plain League with his bat while playing for the Peninsula Pilots in Hampton, VA, will be the starting third baseman for the American Team. The Bridgewater, NJ, product is currently ranked second in the league in hitting with a .354 average and he leads the league in home runs (7), RBI (35) and slugging percentage (.608).
He is coming off a very solid sophomore year for Winthrop as he hit .337 and ranked second on the squad with 14 home runs and 45 RBI.
