ROCK HILL, SC – Winthrop senior forward Tricia Vensel and sophomore midfielder Kylie Long have been named to the Big South Conference Top 20 Players to Watch for the week of Sept. 7 according to TopDrawerSoccer.com.
Vensel ranks 11th on the list, while Long was recognized as the 14th best player in the conference.
Long earned both Big South All-Freshman and All-Tournament Team honors in 2009, while finishing tied for second on the team in goals and points in 16 games started. Vensel was a Second Team All-Big South selection and posted team-highs in goals, points and shots after appearing in 18 games last season.
Vensel leads the squad this season with four points and 10 total shots, and is tied for the team-lead in goals and assists. Long is currently tied for third on the team in shots and has started in all three games.
