MIAMI, FL-- The women's tennis team spent the last half of spring break in Miami, FL where they played #20 Purdue on Thursday afternoon and Florida International on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Eagles lost to Purdue 6-1 and defeated FIU 5-2. The Lady Eagles played both matches without their No. 1 player,
Yasmine Alkema, who suffered a foot injury vs Georgia State on March 9th.

Tijana Uzelac defeated Gisella Pere 6-1, 7-6 (5) at No.6 singles. At No. 3 singles Giovanna Portioli lost to Daniela Vidal 6-7 (1), 2-6.
On Sunday, the Lady Eagles defeated FIU 5-2. In doubles play, Giovanna Portioli and
Alice Garcia beat Carlotta Orlando and A. Trifunovic 8-4 at No.1. At No. 2 doubles,
Caitlin Cridland and
Ekin Gunaysu fell to Rita Maisak and Giulietta Boha 4-8. No.3

Tijana Uzelac beat Magali Holt and Michelle Sabado 8-6.

The Lady Eagles have a three game home stand upcoming beginning this Friday, March 22nd vs Liberty at 1:00 pm. On Saturday, Radford comes into town for a 1:00 pm match. Winthrop wraps up the home stretch vs Gardner-Webb next Tuesday, March 26th at 2:00 pm.
