CHARLOTTE, NC-- Alice Garcia is named the Crons Brand Big South Freshman of the Week for the past week of games. This is the sixth time this season that Garcia has been given this honor. Longwood's Marta Pinyol was named the Big South Player of the Week.

Alice Garcia contiued her hot play this past week with wins over Coastal's Mikaela Davies, 6-3, 6-5, and Radford's Hana Babic, 6-0, 6-0 in singles action. She defeated Davies at No. 2 and Babic in the No. 3 position. In doubles, Garcia partnered with Giovanna Portiolli to defeat Vanessa Ortiz/Alicia Robinson of Coastal 8-5 and Radford's Allison Michael/Hana Babic, 8-2.

Garcia ends the regular season on a ten games singles winning streak to improve her overall singles record to 18-6. Garcia posted a 9-0 record in singles matches in the Big South this season. Garcia's doubles record is 15-9 on the season and 7-2 in the Big South.
