ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop baseball team will host Radford in a three game conference series this weekend at The Winthrop Ballpark. The games are scheduled to begin Friday at 6:00 p.m., Saturday at 3:00 p.m., and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
Winthrop (14-17, 6-3) will be trying to snap a three game losing streak, most recently falling to Clemson 4- 2 on the road. The Eagles, who are first in the Big South South Division rankings, are led by
TJ Olesczuk who is batting .414 on the year with 36 hits, 15 of them RBIs. Sophomore
Michael Patrick (.350) has earned his way into the starting line-up for with Eagles, hitting the game- winning three RBI home run to lead the Eagles past North Carolina last week.
The Highlanders (15-12, 6-3) have four batters hitting above .300, led by senior Alexander Lee (.400) who leads the conference in on base percentage (.518). Junior Hunter Higgerson has a team high 24 RBIs, including five home runs which is third most in the conference.
Highlanders' head coach Joe Raccuia is in his seventh year at his alma mater where he has earned an all-time record of 184-173-1.
