ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop baseball team is set to host a three game series with Toledo this weekend at The Winthrop Ballpark despite being forced to make changes to the schedule due to inclement weather. Friday's game has been moved to start at 2:00 p.m. and there will now be a double header on Saturday with the first game scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and the second game to begin 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. This is the fourth match-up between the two teams with the Eagles leading the series 2-1.
The Eagles (2-1) started off the 2015 season in triumph, winning two of their first three game series with nationally ranked Kent State 2-1. Despite having to postpone Wednesday night's match with USC Upstate, the Eagles are chomping at the bit to build upon opening weekend. Transfers

Anthony Paulsen have made an immediate impact on their new team, combining for six runs, seven hits and three runs batted in while averaging .437 against Kent State. Winthrop continued its reputation for impressive pitching led by junior
Sam Kmiec and senior
Josh Strong. Both pitchers went 1-0 on the weekend while giving up just four hits.
The Rockets (0-3) offense is led by juniors Ryan Callahan and John Martilotta. Callahan averaged .500 during opening weekend in Nashville, getting six hits, two of them home runs, while scoring two runs. Martilotta got three hits including a home run of his own, two runs batted in and averaged .273. Right handed pitcher Steven Calhoun pitched 6.2 innings over the weekend, the most of any Rockets' thrower, giving up three runs on six hits and producing an earned runs average of 2.70.
Rockets' head coach is currently in his 11
th season in Toledo, where he has compiled a record of 244-300 (.449).
