Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop split the four-game season series with Toledo with a 7-1 loss to the Rockets on Sunday afternoon. Winthrop drops to 2-6 overall on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Rockets struck quickly with two runs in the first inning, the first being an RBI double by Luke Walton on the second play of the game and an RBI single by Brayden White on the next play.
• Wes Parker hit a three-run homer to centerfield with two outs in the third to extend the score to 5-0 for the visitors.
• Toledo drove in two more runs in the next inning with two outs, both being RBI singles by Walton and White, respectively.
• Winthrop got on the board in the fifth by loading the bases with no one out and capitalized on the opportunity when Nicholas Badillo grounded out to bring Chazz Grossington home.
• Winthrop's final chance to cut into the deficit was in the seventh as the Eagles put guys on second and third with two out but Badillo struck out to end the inning.
