Winthrop Men Finish 14th At Furman Intercollegiate (3-21-10)
Bearden Leads Eagles With A 10-over 226 And Ties For 32nd Place

GREENVILLE, SC--The Winthrop men's golf team finished 14th out of 24 schools at the 54-hole Furman Intercollegiate which was held over the weekend on the Furman University Golf Course.
The Eagles had rounds of 303-306-306 to finish 51 shots over par and fifty shots behind tournament champion Clemson which won the event by 14 shots over second place Chattanooga.
Winthrop was led by sophomore Kyle Bearden who fired a 10-over par 226 (76-72-78) to finish in a tie for 32nd place. One shot behind was red-shirt freshman Cameron Bell who finished in 36th place at 227 (77-75-77). Sophomore Jordan Sease shot a 228 (77-76-75) to tie for 42nd place. Freshman Kamito Hirai tied for 91st with a 235 (74-83-78) while freshman Brad Sill finished in a tie for 106 after shooting a 238 (76-84-78).
Clemson's Ben Martin and Steven Fox of Chattanooga tied for medalist honors after finishing with 6-under scores of 210.
