Howard Named Big South Conference Women's Track Athlete Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, NC– Winthrop's Ashley Howard was tabbed the Women’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week while Coastal Carolina’s Jason Jensen has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week, while the League announced today.
Howard, a senior from Wilmington, Ohio, set the Big South record in the discus with a mark of 168’ 6” at the Georgia Invitational over the weekend. She won the event by over six feet and is ranked 31st nationally in the event.
Jensen, a sophomore from Myrtle Beach, S.C., posted a personal record throw of 200’ 2” to finish second in the hammer throw at the Duke Invitational over the weekend. He was the top collegiate finisher in the event and currently ranks No. 43 on the NCAA performance list in the event.
