Two Winthrop Women's Golfers Named To 2010-11 NGCA All-American Scholar Team

ROCK HILL, SC--Winthrop golfers Katie Bolling and Nicole Mooberry have been selected on the 2010-11 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team for Division I,

Bolling, a rising senior from New Brighton, MN, has earned a place on the team for three straight years while Mooberry, a rising junior from Norfolk, NE, is being honored for the first time. Bolling has compiled a 3.91 grade point average while majoring in biochemistry. She is the daughter of Fran Bolling.  Mooberry has achieved a 3.54 GPA as a business administration major.  Her parents are Mark and Marjorie Joy Mooberry.

"I am very proud of these two young ladies for what they accomplish in the classroom and on the golf course," said Winthrop head coach Jodie Wendt.  "Katie and Nicole are great examples of the true meaning of the term student-athlete."

A total of 544 women's golfers from NCAA Division I, II and III colleges and universities were recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
