ROCK HILL, SC— Winthrop women's basketball head coach
Kevin Cook announced the hiring of Kenneth Proctor as the director of basketball operations.
"After serving as an intern for Winthrop women's basketball, there was no doubt that I wanted Kenneth to continue being part of our program” said Winthrop women's head basketball coach,
Kevin Cook. “Kenneth will perform a plethora of duties for the Eagles including all aspects of team travel.”
In 2011-12, Proctor was an intern for the Winthrop women's basketball program. He's also spent the last six years at Rock Hill High School, where he coached four sports during his six year stay. He also earned a M.S. in sport management from the U.S. Sports Academy over that span. Prior to his stint at Rock Hill H.S., he was an assistant coach at Charleston Southern University in 2004 with the football program.
Proctor played football at Newberry College and North Greenville College, along with the addition of rugby at the University of South Carolina. In 2000, Proctor graduated from South Carolina with a B.A. in art history. He is a native of Orangeburg, S.C. where he graduated from Orangeburg Preparatory School.
“Kenneth is a loyal and dependable worker who brings a 'whatever it takes' mentality to our program,” Coach Cook added.
Proctor and his wife Marie are the parents of three daughters, Macie (13), Mia (5), and Keelie (3) and one son, Kole (1).
