Todd Riedel Takes Over As Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach

New Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach Todd Riedel Spots For A Women's Soccer Player
ROCK HILL, SC--Todd Riedel has been hired to the fill the vacant position of assistant  director of strength and conditioning in Winthrop Athletics.

Riedel comes to Winthrop following two years as Wofford's director of strength and conditioning where he primarily worked with the football, men's and women's basketball, and volleyball teams. Prior to takeing the Wofford position, Riedel served for one year at Missouri State where he was the associate director of strength and conditioning for the Bears. He assisted with the training of all sixteen teams, while heading up the strength and conditioning efforts for the softball, volleyball and men's and women's soccer programs.

Before going to Missouri State, Riedel spent a year at Western Kentucky working directly with all aspects of Hilltopper football, and conducted programs for soccer, tennis and cheerleading. Riedel's previous experience was at Colgate where he assisted with football and was directly responsible for twelve Olympic sports including soccer, men's basketball, hockey, lacrosse, softball, crew, tennis, volleyball, and swimming and diving. He also has additional experience as an intern at Xavier, Harvard and West Virginia.

A native of Cincinnati, OH, Riedel graduated from the College of Mount Saint Joseph in 2001 where he was a four-year letter winner for the Lion's football team. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in physical education and health and also earned a Master of Education in Sports Administration from Xavier in 2006.  He is a member of numerous professional organizations and is certified by the International Sport Science Association, USA Weightlifting, and has two certifications through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
