Ivar Aramburu (Puebla, Mexico) received this week's Big South Freshman of the Week award for his efforts during last week's conference play.
This honor is the second in as many weeks for the Winthrop Eagles and the first of the season for Aramburu. In his match against UNC-Asheville, Aramburu was able to dispatch Matt Waissen at the No. 2 position in confident fashion by posting a 6-4, 6-2 win for the Eagles. Having won 4 out of his last 5 singles matches, Aramburu now sits at 7-4 overall this season and 4-1 in Big South Conference singles play.
Aramburu and the Eagles will be back in action this coming Friday, April 12
th as they hit the road to take on Presbyterian College at 2 p.m.
