Women's 5K ResultsROCK HILL, SC—The Winthrop men's cross country team finished third while the women's squad placed fifth in the 28
th annual Winthrop Adidas Invitational which was run Saturday morning at the Winthrop Lake Course.
Winthrop's men finished with 67 points and were led by freshman Kevin Mills who had his first collegiate top 10 finish with a seventh place time of 26:05.84. Sophomore Blake White ran second for the Eagles and finished 15
th overall with a time of 26:56.94.

The Winthrop women totaled 135 points and were led by freshman
Victoria Burdette who finished 24
th with a time of 19:41.95. Another freshman,
Hannah Lopez, was next for Winthrop as she finished 28th in a time of 19:56.22.

Appalachian State swept both team titles in the Gold Division, while in the Garnet Division Columbia College claimed the women's title and Shawnee State won the men's championship. The Mountaineer men ran away with the 8K championship, finishing with 18 points and placing seven individuals among the top 10 finishers. In the women's 5K, App State totaled 37 points as they narrowly defeated second place Georgia State which finished with 40 points. Shawnee State totaled 20 points in the Div. II men's race as it also placed seven runners in the top 10. The Columbia College women scored 39 points to ease past second place Benedict.
The individual winners were sophomore Kyla Van Graan of Coastal Carolina in the Div. I women's race with a time of 17:18.93; Columbia College sophomore Janay Chisholm in Div. II (20:15.39); Appalachian State junior Michael Ellis in the Div. I men's race (25:36.49) and sophomore Dessie Demlew of Benedict in Div. II (25:25.43).
