AMELIA ISLAND, FL—Winthrop women's golf placed sixth while Ashley Sloup had a Top 10 finish at the JU Amelia Island Collegiate.

  • Sloup finished with the team's low round of the day as she finished all alone in ninth
  • Chelsea Dantonio bounced back with a final round 75
  • Chandler Case shot a final round 81 but placed in the Top 30 at tied for 29th
  • Julie Reinertsen finished tied for 23rd as she had the least fluctuation between her scores in all three rounds
  • Reinertsen finished tied for first in Par 5 scoring for the tournament (-5)
  • Sloup was the top Eagle in Par 4 scoring at +3
  • Louise Jeppesen, Case and Sloup all led the team in Par 3 scoring at +1
  • Sloup also finished with the second most pars in the event with 39 while Reinertsen led the team with 10 birdies (4th best in the event)
  • For Reinertsen it was her 6th straight Top 25 finish dating back to the Big South Conference Championship in 2017
  • Sloup has now had a Top 10 finish in three straight events 
 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Eagles will have a three week break before getting back on the course Mar. 14-16 when they travel to St. George, UT for the Lady Thunderbird Invitational hosted by Southern Utah University.
