Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Winthrop baseball program lost their third straight contest to Liberty Sunday afternoon and dropped the series 3-0 in the process with a 13-2 loss.
The Eagles are 2-5 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- C.J. Conrad singled with one out in the first inning but the Eagles were unable to advance him
- Liberty exploded in the bottom of the second with a three-run homer and a solo home run
- The Flames weren't done as they used an RBI triple, a sacrifice fly, another solo homer, and a 2 RBI double for a 9-0 lead
- Liberty tacked on two more runs in the fifth on a single and a double from back-to-back batters
- The Flames added two runs in the sixth on a throwing error by the Eagles
- Joseph Szvetitz got Winthrop on the board in the eighth inning with a pinch hit 2 RBI double
- The Eagles were unable to gain any additional momentum as they were shut down from then on
