Eagles Fall In Game 2
 
Clinton, S.C. - The Winthrop baseball program fell to Presbyterian College 6-1 in game two of its Big South Conference series, Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened

• In the top of the 1st inning, the Eagles led things off by getting two runners on base as C.J. Conrad led off with a double and Dillon Morton singled up the middle but came up empty
• In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Presbyterian was able to get two baserunners on with two outs, but Carter Sutton got out of the jam with a strikeout to end the inning
• The Blue Hose posted four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead
• The first two runs came on RBI singles from Eric Toth and Dalton Reeves
• In the top of the 6th, the Eagles got back-to-back singles by Robbie Taul and Conrad to try and get something going
• After Morton struck out, Joey Tepper grounded into a double play to end the threat
• Presbyterian added another in the bottom of the sixth as Noah Lebron led off with a double and scored two batters later on a double by Jay Wetherington
• In the top of the 7th, Winthrop broke through as Ethan Fewell doubled home Ty Hooks to make it a 5-1 game
• The Blue Hose added another run in the bottom of the seventh on a bases loaded walk
• Jack Spyke led off the ninth with a single to try and get something going
• Two batters later with two outs Joseph Svetitz walked to put two on but Fewell flied out to right and Khyree Miller grounded into a force out at second
